Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu announced that Telangana aims to become a premier hub for electronics manufacturing in India, emphasizing technology, innovation and a robust industrial ecosystem.

New Manufacturing Facility Highlights Growth

Speaking at the inauguration of Mivi’s new production unit in E‑City, Tukkuguda, near Hyderabad, the minister noted that the state’s manufacturing sector expanded by 7.7% in the 2025‑26 fiscal year. The manufacturing sub‑sector contributed approximately ₹1.37 lakh crore to Telangana’s Gross State Value Added (GSVA).

The Mivi plant, backed by a ₹200 crore investment from Avishakaran Industries, is set to produce up to 500,000 earbuds and 75,000 soundbars each month, employing around 2,500 workers. The brand, originally focused on audio products, has broadened its portfolio to include smartphones and other consumer electronics, aiming to compete with global players.

Strategic Vision Under Telangana Rising‑2047

Telangana’s long‑term plan, outlined in the Telangana Rising‑2047 vision, seeks to strengthen electronics clusters and hardware parks, while expanding capabilities in chip design, semiconductor fabrication and component manufacturing. The government intends to attract firms across the entire electronics value chain—from research and product design to component production and final assembly.

Efforts are also directed at integrating local manufacturers with international supply chains, thereby enhancing the state’s role in the global electronics market.

Future Outlook

Co‑founders of Mivi, Midhula Devabhaktuni and Viswanadh Kandula, marked the inauguration as a milestone coinciding with the company’s tenth anniversary. They reaffirmed plans to continue investing in innovation and developing products tailored to Indian consumers.

The state’s focus on building a comprehensive ecosystem aims to position Telangana as a leading destination for electronics manufacturing, supporting job creation and technological advancement across the region.
