The postmortem report of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation’s Chief Engineer, Vimal Negi, has reached the Shimla Police, while the forensic report is still awaited. The report states that there were no external injuries on his body. A final medical opinion will be given after forensic analysis.
In connection with Negi’s alleged suicide, the Shimla Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) consisting of six officers. Led by SP Sanjeev Gandhi, the team includes ASP Navdeep Singh, DSP Shakti Singh, and cyber experts. The SIT questioned several employees of the Power Corporation late into Saturday night and seized office records along with electronic equipment for investigation.
Shimla Police is also analyzing Vimal Negi’s Call Detail Records (CDR) to examine all possible angles. Officials named in the FIR will soon be questioned. Negi’s family has alleged that he was under extreme stress due to harassment by senior officials of the Power Corporation. They claim he was forced to work late nights and was under immense pressure, which ultimately led him to take this drastic step.
As the investigation progresses, all eyes are on the forensic report and the SIT’s findings, which could determine whether this was a case of extreme workplace harassment or if there are deeper layers to this tragic incident.
