Protest Rally for Police Verification
Today, people from Bro Panchayat and nearby organizations held a protest rally from Bro Panchayat to Bro Bridge. During the rally, locals appealed to the residents not to rent rooms or shops to outsiders without proper police verification.
They demanded that police authorities should also ensure that outsiders submit a character certificate issued by a competent authority from their native place during the verification process.
The protesters also cited the recent incident where an attempt was made to abduct a minor girl, raising serious concerns over the intentions of outsiders coming into the villages. Locals alleged that under the guise of work, some outsiders are trying to disrupt the social fabric of rural areas.
Shashi Katoch, Pradhan, Bro Panchayat
“We are making people aware that any outsider residing in the village must undergo proper police verification. The police should also demand a character certificate and necessary documents from the concerned panchayat during the verification process.”
Vishnu Sharma, District Minister, Vishwa Hindu Parishad
“The purpose of today’s rally is to make people alert. Many times, outsiders come to villages with wrong intentions. Therefore, we urge the administration to further strengthen the police verification process.”
