Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Luhri Hydro Power Project Stage-1 has approved an amount of Rs. 13.94 crore for a Lift Irrigation Scheme to benefit the project-affected Gram Panchayat Nirath in district Shimla.
As part of this scheme, four installments totaling Rs. 8.50 crore have already been handed over to the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Rampur Bushahr. Continuing this process, the fifth installment of Rs. 3 crore was handed over on April 4, 2025, by Project Head of Luhri Hydro Power Project Stage-1, Mr. Vivek Sharma, to Mr. Rasvir Singh Negi, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Rampur Bushahr. This handover took place in the presence of Mrs. Reena Thakur, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Nirath, and Mr. Prem Chauhan, Up-Pradhan.
Currently, the construction work of this irrigation scheme is in progress, which includes the building of a pump house, pipeline network, and storage tank. The entire project is expected to be completed before March 2026.
Once completed, this ambitious irrigation scheme will provide a reliable water supply for irrigation purposes to various villages under Gram Panchayat Nirath, benefitting approximately 3,500 residents of the project-affected area.
On this occasion, senior management officials from Luhri Hydro Power Project Stage-1 were present, including Mr. S.K. Das, General Manager (Finance & Accounts), Mr. Dheeraj Gupta, Head of Department (Human Resources), Mr. Rajendra Singh, Senior Manager (HR), Mr. Prakhar Vaish, Manager (Finance & Accounts), Mr. Lekh Raj, Assistant Manager (Civil/CSR), along with other officials.
