SJVN’s flagship project, the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS), has achieved an exceptional milestone by generating 7421.453 million units in the financial year 2024-25. This marks the third-highest annual energy generation since the plant’s inception. Previously, the third-highest annual energy generation was recorded at 7313.784 million units in FY 2015-16. The first and second highest annual generation records stand at 7610.257 million units and 7445.431 million units, achieved in FY 2011-12 and FY 2019-20, respectively.
NJHPS has set multiple benchmarks in FY 2024-25. On August 13, 2024, the station achieved its highest-ever single-day generation record of 39.572 million units. Additionally, in July 2024, it recorded the highest-ever monthly generation of 1222.170 million units. The power station also set a new record for the highest quarterly generation, achieving 3450.98 million units in the second quarter of FY 2024-25. Furthermore, on December 1, 2024, NJHPS attained its second-fastest design energy milestone by crossing 6612 million units.
