After the entire opposition members of Congress Party with one CPM member joining hands to bring a no-trust motion against the Jai Ram Thakur government in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, the speaker of state assembly Vipin Parmer admitted the motion fixing Thursday for debate and voting on motion.

The Speaker announced that tomorrow a debate will begin from 11 am to 4 pm on no- confidence motion.

The four-day session of Himachal Pradesh assembly began today morning at 11am with obituaries paying to the four former members of the house. This monsoon session is the last of the 13th Himachal Pradesh assembly with Jai Ram Thakur running the government as election to the state assembly is due later this year.
With the beginning of the session today, the opposition Congress Party was appearing aggressive, defiant and unsupportive of the ruling government.
After the end of the obituary in the Vidhan Sabha today, the Congress party legislators raised voices, seeking debate on the notice for no-confidence moved by them.
The defiant and alert CLP leader Mukesh Agnihotri urged Speaker Vipin Parmar to allow a debate on the notice of no-confidence motion under Rule 278 given by 23 MLAs of Congress and one of the CPM.
The speaker of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Vipin Parmar said he will give his decision later but Congress MLAs began shouting slogans bearing hand bills about price rise and unemployment. The treasury benches also responded in retaliation. The Speaker tried to mund both sides in the house.
Himachal Pradesh Congress Party opposition leader in the house said the Jairam government had lost the right to continue in office as there was complete breakdown of government machinery.
With din and noise pollution in the house, the Speaker adjourned the House for a few minutes.
After their return to the house , a head count was undertaken in the Vidhan Sabha on the no-confidence motion after the Opposition remained adamant. Heated exchanges took place between Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and CLP Leader. The CM Jai Ram Thakur said he has no objection to the debate.
The Congress has 22 MLAs in the House and has the support of one CPM MLA, Rakesh Singha, which brings their total strength to 23. BJP has 44 MLAs in the house besides two Independents who are claimed to have joined BJP.
Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur criticized the opposition members for trying to bulldoze the agenda of the house by disrupting the business frequently. He also added that his government is not scared of no-trust motion and will face it boldly as BJP has got a big majority in the house.
