Sundernagar, News Views Post: A trainee from Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College, Sundernagar, ended his life by hanging himself in his rented room in Pungdhu. According to the police, Nishan Singh (22), son of Sudarshan, a resident of Sinula village, Liggah post office, Salooni tehsil, Chamba district, was a sixth-semester student of Mechanical Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College, Sundernagar.
When he did not answer repeated calls from home in the morning, his family informed his sister, who is also studying at a college in Sundernagar. Concerned, she reached his rented room in Pungdhu around 12 noon and found him hanging.
The police arrived at the scene, took down the body, and sent it for post-mortem at Sundernagar Civil Hospital. The reason behind the young trainee’s extreme step remains unclear, as no suicide note was found in the room.
SP Mandi, Sakshi Verma, stated that the post-mortem examination has been conducted, and the exact time and cause of death will be determined after the report arrives. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the case from every possible angle.
