Shimla, May 24
The Chandigarh-Shimla Highway was closed by a massive landslide at Pandoh dam in Mandi district since midnight and the vehicular traffic to Kullu and Manali was diverted via Karola, said Himachal Pradesh police.
The entire Himachal Pradesh is receiving heavy rains since yesterday with high attitude places being clad white by fresh summer snow. Himachal Pradesh government today issued advisory to tourists to not go to snowing regions of the state, otherwise they would invite unnecessary disasters by being trapped in snow.
Rains and snow have pulled down temperature in the entire Northern region of the country giving people respite from the sweltering heat.
The weather has become very pleasant in hill tourist spots -Shimla, Manali, Kufri Narkanda, Dalhousie and Dharamshala with the falling rains continuously.
