A blood donation camp was organized at the Raj Darbar Complex in Rampur Bushahr to commemorate the 92nd birth anniversary of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Late Virbhadra Singh. The event was formally inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Congress President and Singh’s wife, Pratibha Singh, along with his daughter and former Chief Justice of High Court, Abhilasha Kumari.
Local MLA and Chairman of the 7th State Finance Commission, Nand Lal, also attended the camp and encouraged the participants.
Speaking at the occasion, Pratibha Singh expressed joy over the overwhelming public participation and said that organizing blood donation camps on such occasions not only honors the memory of the former Chief Minister but also serves humanity. “Donating blood is one of the noblest acts. It can help save lives and bring real impact to someone in need. Virbhadra Singh believed deeply in service and development — this is our way of keeping his legacy alive,” she said.
She further emphasized that Congress has always stood for service and development, values which Virbhadra Singh upheld throughout his six-time tenure as Chief Minister. “Congress is a party built on the foundation of sacrifice and public service. Singh Ji dedicated his life to the progress of Himachal Pradesh. We want the younger generation to draw inspiration from such events,” she added.
MLA Nand Lal highlighted that various commemorative events are being held across the state to honor Virbhadra Singh’s birth anniversary.
“Before this, a state-level boxing championship was held in Shimla. Blood donation camps are being organized in multiple locations. Tomorrow, on the occasion of Chaurkha (ritual observance), several senior leaders, including the Chief Minister, are expected to attend a special ceremony in Rampur,” he shared.
