Four West Bengal mountaineers who went missing five days ago have been spotted and contacted successfully in Ali Ratna peak by rescue team of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (ABVIMAS) today, informed Avinash Negi, Director of the ABVIMAS.
“They are all in good condition and efforts are in vogue to bring them back to the base camp,” Negi added.
All four mountaineers went missing on September 7 in the process of scaling Mt Ali Ratna Tibba above the historic Malana village in Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh.
All four professional trekkers have been identified as 31 years old Binoy Das, 43 years old Abhijit Bani, 43 years old Chinmoy Mondal, and 37 year old Dibash Das.
Tomorrow they are expected to reach the road near Malana.
The ABVIMAS rescue team launched a helicopter operation lasting three hours and successfully contacted the missing adventurers and returned back to the base in Bhuntar in Kullu district.
Himachal Pradesh government sources revealed that the climbers from West Bengal had not informed the administration before setting off for the scaling expedition.
