Shimla, July 13
Monsoon devastated Himachal Pradesh have successfully managed the departure of over 60,000 tourists who had stranded in the communications snapped state during past six days, informed Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
Over 10,000 people who are still stranded in Kasol and Kheerganga regions in Kullu valley, have declined to leave the destinations without their vehicles which have got stuck on the damaged roads, informed the state government.
Lakhs of tourists visit various nature destinations in Himachal Pradesh during summer season which lasts till July 15, and no records of their whereabouts and numbers are available with any government or private agencies.
This is the sole reason always of providing misleading figures of tourists who get stranded up in Himachal Pradesh during the natural disasters likeMonsoon flash flood, snow lake bursting river flood and heavy snowfalls that now frequently visit this state.
