— The 12th edition of MTB Shimla, one of India’s most anticipated mountain biking events, concluded in spectacular fashion today with the grand finale — Stage 2, aptly titled “The Potter’s Halo” — at the scenic and rugged Potter’s Hill.

Over five intense laps of a challenging 3.18-kilometer single-loop trail, riders pushed their physical and mental limits, navigating steep climbs, technical descents, and narrow forested passages. The energy was electric as cyclists from across India battled for the top spot in front of an enthusiastic crowd and nature’s raw backdrop.

In the Men Junior category, Himanshu Dabral from Dehradun clocked 04:46:53 to take 1st place, followed by teammate Ayush Negi. The Women’s category was led by Priyanka Mehta from Haldwani, proving the growing presence and prowess of women in Indian mountain biking.

What’s Next for MTB Shimla?

With the 2025 edition now in the books, organizer HASTPA (Himalayan Adventure Sports & Tourism Promotion Association) is already gearing up for future challenges. President Mohit Sood thanked all participants, sponsors, and volunteers, emphasizing the event’s role in promoting mountain biking culture and showcasing Himachal Pradesh’s natural splendor.

“MTB Shimla has become more than a race — it’s a celebration of grit, community, and the great outdoors,” he remarked.

As the dust settles at Potter’s Hill, the legacy of this year’s race continues to inspire — promising bigger adventures and a stronger mountain biking movement in the heart of the Himalayas.
