Kalka-Shimla Heritage Train:
Service Begins Between Kalka-Koti


Shimla, Sept 5
With life slowly inching back to normal in Himachal Pradesh, the train services were too restored on Shimla-Kalka railway track only till Koti on Tuesday with plying of two services, said a source in the Indian Railways.
“The first service will start from Kalka at 7am and reach Koti after nearly an hour at 7.55am. It will begin to move back after 25 minutes at 8.20am and arrive at Kalka at 9.15am. The second train will start from Kalka at 3pm and reach back at 4.20pm,” said the Railway official.

In the multiple Monsoon disasters, the UNESCO heritage Shimla-Kalka railway was intensely damaged at over two dozens places and as a consequence train services stayed suspended for nearly two months since July.

Railways are carrying repair and construction works rapidly on this tourist route, and believe that train would resume working normally between Shimla and Kalka before the end of this month.
