Himachal Pradesh government on Tuesday has urged the people especially tourists to avoid traveling to the China bordering upper regions of the flood affected Pooh administrative subdivision of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
“Heavy rains are battering the Leo, Nako, Malling, Ka, Chango, Yangthang and Shalkhar areas of the upper Pooh subdivision of Kinnaur district during the last two days and cloudbursts have triggered flooding in many Nallahs in the region. Many roads including National Highways have been damaged in many places, making motor traveling unpassable there,” said District Disaster Management Authority Kinnaur.
Torrential rains, in the otherwise dry climate regions of China bordering Pooh, since yesterday have caused massive loss to roads, water supply schemes, four houses, 5 cowsheds besides four apple orchards. The BRO, police and local administration are busy restoring normal life in the affected areas but continuous heavy rains are hampering the restoration works.
