Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today presented his fifth tax free budget for the year 2022-23 in state assembly.
Following are the key features of the proposed budget estimate for the next financial year beginning on April 1 of this year.
- The Budget promises creation of 30,000 new jobs in various government departments during the next financial year.
- The honorariums of the various categories of government para-workers have been hiked significantly.
- Anganwadi workers will be paid Rs 9000 per month from coming April, a hike of Rs 1700.
- Mini anganwadi workers will get Rs 6100 per month.
- Anganwadi Sahayogi will receive Rs 4700 for a month.
- Asha workers of the health department who worked fearlessly during Covid pandemic will get Rs 4700 per month, a big hike of Rs 1825.
- Tailoring teacher will be paid an honorarium amounting to Rs 7950 monthly.
- Mid-day meal workers of the education department will get Rs 3500 per month.
- Water carrier engaged in the education department will receive Rs 3900 per month.
- Jal rakshak of the water and irrigation department will get Rs 4500 per month.
- Multi-purpose workers of Jalshakti department will be paid Rs 3900 per month.
- Pump fitters or pump operators in the Jal Vibhag will receive honorarium of Rs 5500 in a month.
- Daily wage has been hiked by Rs 50, now the minimum daily wage will be Rs 350.
- Minimum salary of the outsoured workers has been fixed at Rs 10,500 monthly.
- Panchayat chokidar will now get Rs 6500 for a month.
- Revenue Lambardar will be paid an honorarium of Rs 3200 monthly.
- SMC teacher has been given a hike of Rs 1000 per month. They will be retained in the teaching and a policy may find light of the day for them.
- IT teacher’s honorarium has also heen hike by Rs 1000 monthly.
- The Jai Ram Thakur government has also increased the monthly payment of local self government representatives of both urban and rural bodies.
- The Himachal Pradesh government has promised to increase all social security pensions and old pension age has been cut down to 60 years in place of 70.
- Old age pension has been increased to Rs 1700 per month, a hike of Rs 200. Physically disabled too will get the same amount.
- MLA development fund has now been increased to Rs 2cr.
23 The fiscal deficit projected in the budget for the next year will be 4.98 percent of the Himachal Pradesh’s state GDP.
