Rampur Bushahr (Bisheshar Negi)
When society turns its back and circumstances offer no support, those who step forward to take responsibility become nothing short of angels. The Thakur Satyanarayan Kapooria Temple Trust in Rampur, Shimla district, has become just that—for daughters who have lost their parents or whose dreams of marriage have remained unfulfilled due to extreme poverty.
In the small town of Rampur, nestled in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district, the Thakur Satyanarayan Kapooria Temple Trust is quietly performing extraordinary acts of kindness. The Trust has so far arranged and solemnized the marriages of 51 underprivileged and orphaned girls—those who had no one to guide them through the most important ceremony of their lives.
In its latest initiative, the Trust once again organized a traditional wedding within the temple premises. From welcoming the groom’s family to arranging accommodation, food, rituals, and even wedding gifts—the Trust handled everything like devoted parents would.
But the Trust’s service doesn’t stop at weddings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, and in times of natural calamities, it played a vital role in relief distribution. The Trust is also active in organizing health camps and other welfare activities.
Yet, its most compassionate and commendable work remains offering dignity, security, and a new beginning to young women who have no one else to lean on. By gifting them not only a wedding, but also household items to begin their new life, the Trust truly acts as both guardian and guide.
Weddings are held twice a year as part of the Trust’s annual service calendar.
Vinay Sharma, General Secretary of the Trust:
“We dedicate ourselves to service throughout the year, and as per our annual calendar, we organize weddings twice a year for girls who have no family or support system,” he shared.
Mohini, Newlywed Bride from Sarpara:
“The support given by the Trust has changed my life. I pray that God continues to bless them so they can keep helping girls like me to soar with hope and dignity,” said an emotional Mohini.
G.R. Azad, Social Worker:
“This is more than a wedding—it’s about restoring dignity to a life. The Trust has taken responsibility for 51 such daughters so far, and that’s truly inspirational for society,” he noted.
Real change begins when society stands up for those who have no one else. The efforts of the Thakur Satyanarayan Kapooria Temple Trust are not just about charity—they are about creating new dawns for young women, and setting a powerful example for us all.
