Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama today announced making donations for the flood relief and rescue operation that are underway in Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh.
“As a token of our solidarity with the people of Himachal Pradesh, our friends and neighbours, the Dalai Lama Trust is making a donation to relief and rescue efforts,” said the Dalai Lama.
Expressing his sad feelings over the rain’s havoc in Himachal Pradesh, he conveyed to the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur writing that he offered his condolences to you, to the families who have lost loved ones, and to all those affected by this devastation. “I pray for them,” said the Tibetan spiritual Guru.
Admiring the works carried by the state government to provide relief to the flood victims, he said, “I appreciate that the State Government and other agencies are doing their utmost to provide relief to people affected by these calamitous conditions.”
The Dalai Lama is in Ladakh nowadays, and sent his deep heartfelt concerns to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
The Tibetan spiritual leader resided in Dharamshala over the last six decades when he fled Tibet 1959 in an uprising against the Chinese government.
