– In one of the deadliest aviation disasters in India’s recent history, 297 people have been confirmed dead following the crash of an Air India Dreamliner aircraft shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport.
Air India released an official statement confirming the deaths of 241 passengers and 12 crew members who were onboard the aircraft. Additionally, 56 more casualties occurred on the ground when the aircraft crashed into the mess building of the BJ Medical College hostel, taking the total death toll to 297.
